NEWS AND INFORMATION

March 10, 2010

Closing Ceremonies:  Closing Ceremonies will be April 17th.  We tried to pick a date closer to the end of the season, but we need to time for the trophies to be made (we won't know who the division champions are until this weekend).  We also have to contend with families leaving town for Spring Break and field availability since football will have rights to the fields when soccer season ends.  We hope everyone will join us on April 17th.

Picture Re-takes:  For anyone not happy with their pictures, we will have photo re-takes this Saturday between 9am and 1pm.  You MUST have your old pictures with you in order to take new ones.

Presidents Message

We have completed week 10 of our game schedules, although the last 20 minutes of the last three games at around 3:20 had some of the strangest weather I have seen in some time.  Based on the results from the last ten weeks, we have been able to determine the top four seeds in the U-8, U-11 and U-14 divisions.  However, we wanted to make sure that everyone knows that our games are not done.

Every team still has two games scheduled.  Most of the games will take place on March 6th and March 13th.  A few games will take place on weeknights.  The schedule page of the website has been updated with dates and times of the remaining two games.

Baseball League Conflicts:  As a side note, I, as many of you, have children who are involved with other sports in the City.  I will be asking the City for an explanation as to why one major sport (baseball) has been permitted to start playing games prior to another sport (soccer) ending.  It is not fair to either league, as the players and some coaches now have to make a choice as to which sport they will play on any given day.  We will work to do our part to avoid this problem next year, though the soccer season cannot start until the football league has finished using the fields.

Closing Ceremonies:  Closing Ceremonies are in the final planning stages.  We need to allow enough time for the trophies and plaques to be made after our season concludes, but we also run into Spring Break and will have many families out of town.  The City is using the field the weekend of April 3rd.  We are now looking at either April 10th or April 17th, depending on field availability.  Flag football is taking the fields over once our season ends and has the fields reserved during weeknights.

Once we are given a specific date, we will e-mail everyone and post a notice on the site.  We should have an answer this week and you should know before our games this Saturday.

Division rankings, which have now been posted, are based on the following set of tiebreakers:

  1. Head-to-head match-up

  2. Goal differential (in case of a three-way tie)

We have also posted the schedules for the playoff weeks.  Look under your team's respective division to see the pairings.

February 14, 2010

Tomorrow night's soccer practices are cancelled.  The city will be closed in honor of the Presidents Day holiday.  There will not be any city staff available to turn on the lights at the fields.

February 13, 2010

Today's games will be played as scheduled.

We understand that weather is not as ideal as we're used to in South Florida, but with the absence of rain all games will proceed as scheduled.

Please dress warmly.

President's Message

Well here we are, half way through the season. Although I may be jinxing things, I think we have been fortunate that mother nature has, for the most part, been kind to our schedule. Only one weekend's games had to be cancelled (so far) due to weather. While we had experienced some glitches and issues along the way, we have continually been striving to make changes to make the game safer and more fun. This has been an effort not just by the Board, but with input from coaches and cooperation from players and parents.

One of our biggest concerns was player and spectator safety. For that reason, and based upon recommendations from our insurance carrier and the referee organization, we implemented a parent line. It has been a valuable tool in ensuring that everyone has been kept safe. The coaches are allowed to coach without interruption and the players are able to play without being confused by getting coaching advise from people other than their coach.

A vast majority of parents have not only accepted this line but even commented on what a great idea it was. We have been somewhat laid back as far as making sure that everyone follows the parent line rules because we realize that while the games are for the kids, the parents also enjoy them. However, as the old saying goes, a few bad incidents have forced us into a position of having to be more strict with this.

Starting this Saturday, referees will not start a game unless ALL PARENTS, FROM BOTH TEAMS, ARE ON THE PARENT SIDELINE. This will apply to every field in every division. Coaches may choose to coach from the parent side if they wish but also have the right to be on the coaches sideline, away from parents, so they can communicate with their players without distraction. Referees will stop play, in the middle of a game, if parents have crossed the orange line or have moved to the coaches side of the field.

The idea is for the players to be able to play and have fun. So if you are asked by a coach, referee or board member to step back behind the line or move to the parent side of the field, this is not intended to be a personal attack. It is done as a requirement of the league's insurance company and for the purpose of allowing the kids to play. After all, it is about them having fun.

Good luck to everyone in this weekend's games.

U-11 Schedule Change

The 9:00 am games will take place at 1:00 p.m. and the 10:30 a.m. game will take place at 2:30 p.m.

Recently the League was advised by numerous parents and players from several U-11 teams that the School Board had decided to give students the opportunity to enhance their educational skills in preparation for the FCAT test which are forthcoming.  While this is predominately a voluntary camp, the idea that a child's education comes before recreational soccer is something that the League believes in.

The Board was initially notified of this no more than 12 days ago and at the same time learned that this would cause several teams to be unable to field a team since their players were in school.  This affected multiple teams, though not all, in the division.  We hurriedly tried to come up with a way to resolve this.  We did not want games to be won or lost simply because one team or another could not field a team.  The idea of the league is for the kids to play soccer games, not win by forfeit.

Considering the short notice that students and their parents received about the dates of the new FCAT camps, this in turn caused there to be a short amount of time for the Board to come up with a way to make sure all of the games could be played.  Logistically there was no way to reach out to almost a hundred families with short notice.  They practice different nights and times and we didn't think phone calls at 10 or 11 at night were practical.  One thought was to have a few games during the week.  However, the expense of the referee's is greater when they do only one game here or there.  So to be financially responsible to the entire league, we knew that this was not a possible solution with short notice.

Another thought was to have the games at the end of the season, but the flag football league takes over using the fields the week after we are done in the middle of March so this was also not possible.

This same FCAT issue came up with the U-14 division earlier in the season and we changed their schedule on short notice with no issues.  The U-14 teams now play at 1:00 p.m. and at 2:30 p.m.  Fortunately since we are in our winter season the temperatures are usually in the 70's so heat is not a big issue.  Plus, should we have another cold front, the games wont be played in 40 degree weather.  That is one reason we have water breaks built into our games.  Other sports in Tamarac play in August when the temperatures reach the upper 90's.

Since the change for U-14 worked out with no issues arising, we decided to follow that example and simply move the games up by just a few hours.  This allowed students to enhance their education and then be able to assist the team that they were playing for.

Unfortunately we know this will be an inconvenience for a few, but we believe that for the good of the entire league, we need to make this change.  This allows players to work on school issues to better themselves.  Without doing so, several games will not be played due to not being able to get a team on the field and the game will be forfeited which does nothing positive for the players, the teams or the league.

We also had to ensure that referees were available for the games and that took a few days to verify.  The solution that seemed to make the most sense was to mimic the U-14 teams that have altered their schedule, midseason, for at least the past two years.

President's Message

Make-Up Games:  We have set a TENTATIVE schedule for the games we missed on January 9th due to weather.  We are looking at Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, January 25-27.  Once we receive confirmation that we will have referees available, we will post the schedule online.  All games will be at 6:30 p.m.

Picture Day:  January 23rd is picture day. Coaches, please come to the concession stand this weekend - January 16, 2010 - and pick up the photo order forms to pass out to to your team's parents.  We will be sending out a special schedule for Picture Day that will require teams to show up early for their games.

Earthquake Assistance:  As you probably have heard, much of Haiti was catastrophically damaged by an earthquake earlier this week.  We are asking that you please bring any clothes or non-perishable food that you wish to donate for the victims to the concession stand.  We will be collecting for several weeks (at least) and will make sure the items are taken to the Red Cross.

Fund Raiser:  We have received some inquiries regarding the fund raiser.  Due to the weather issues we have had, we will extend the time to sell the cards through the end of January.  We are asking that each player sell just three cards.  Based upon this number, we will be able to purchase nicer trophies for the players at the end of the year.  In addition we would like to replace a few more nets for next year.  Lastly, if we are able to get three cards sold from each player, the league will be able to make a donation to the Red Cross for the earthquake victims.  So please help us help the kids.  You can bring your card order form to the concession stand and get your cards right then.

U-6 and U-8 Schedules:  After this week's game (January 16th) if you are a coach, player or parent in the U-6 or U-8 division, please check the website for a few minor changes in some game schedules.  Some game times were adjusted due to circumstances that would have resulted in some teams possibly not being able to play.  The changes are limited only to game times being changed, and this will affect only a few teams in both the U-6 and U-8 divisions.

Thank you all and we look forward to seeing you out on the fields.

Joe Torok

January 7, 2010

President's Message

Our first week is under our belts. A vast majority of things went well, or at least without major problems. There was one issue with a U-11 game that we have resolved, making our decision based on the rules that govern our league. According the FIFA, tiebreakers are not used in any game unless it is a quarterfinal, semifinal or championship game.  Based upon this, the U-11 game in question should have been ended as a draw (tie).

Points, under the FIFA rules of the game, are awarded for wins and ties. Three points to any team that wins, one point to any team that ties and no points for a loss. If you look at the web site, you will see that our results tally is set up for this type of scoring and has been for at least the past several years. There will be tie breakers used for our playoff games, but not for the regular season game.

The board is also aware of a few other issues with some calls made by referees. One thing I will point out, there are NO penalty kicks in the U-6 or U-8 divisions. If a penalty or foul occurs in the area of the goal box, the team who suffered the foul/penalty will be permitted to have a player take a free shot from midfield, with no goalkeeper. We cannot justify having a child in the 4 to 7 year old age range standing in the goal having a ball kicked hard at them from just a few feet away, potentially striking them in the face causing unnecessary injury. Please remember, this is about fun for the kids and I don't think having a ball kicked at your face would be very fun. As the kids get older and their reaction time gets quicker and their skills develop, a normal penalty kick will be taken.

Now, enough of the bad stuff. I want to thank everyone who came to support your league by going to the concession stand. Your purchases from there directly will affect the league. Special thanks to those who worked in the concession stand. They did a great job and the concession manager has done a fantastic job finding a bigger variety of items to offer. Along the lines of money for the league, please remember the fundraiser. We are asking for each player to sell just three cards. Once your children have sold however many cards they can, just have them bring the sheet to the concession stand. We will write down their name, division and team so we can track which team wins the pizza party and then we will give them the cards right then to distribute to whomever purchased one. This money will be used to replace some of our older goals and nets. We replaced one set of U-8 goals and one set of U-11 goals this year already. We would like to be able to get better U-6 goals in the future but these are working fine for now.

I also want to thank all of the parents. You were all very helpful in staying back off the field, preventing injury to you or the players. It is the small things like that, that really make game day run much smoother.

Lastly, as many of you know, or found out this past Saturday, the field is equipped with a lightning detection system. This system senses lightning up to 5 miles away from the field. If you hear ONE long tone, that means lightning was detected and we are REQUIRED by the city to clear the entire field and seek shelter. Once the detector has not sensed lightning for 15 minutes, it will sound the all clear. That is three tones, one right after the other. At that point we can return to the field to continue play.

Good luck to you all on Saturday.

President's Message

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who came out to our Soccer Kickoff Party today.  We were fortunate that the weather held out all day for us. I also want to take this time to say a few special thank you's.

Thank you to our sponsor, Universal Fun, for providing the bounce houses and rock wall.

Thank you to our sponsor SoNu Water. They were kind enough to donate to us the water the players and coaches received today. This water helps to replace electrolytes and provides vitamins and minerals. We will have that at available at the concession stand throughout the season.

Thank you to Coach Antonio Tahan for providing us with the sound system and music.

Also thank you to www.mywebsafety.com for their presence today. They offer a downloadable program to assist in ensuring the safety of our children from cell phone issues such as cyber bullying, sexting, and texting while driving.

I also wish to thank Dave George for spending the entire day cooking for us. Thank you to Penny, Lori, Dawn, Beth and Staci for their help in and around the concession stand. And Coach Fred from last year did an awesome job getting the tickets out to the coaches. Thank you Coach Fred.

Fund Raisers
For those that were there today, the kids really seemed to enjoy themselves and that is what this league is about. We would really like to have an outstanding closing ceremony. All of you can help with this by lending a hand with our fundraiser. We have set what we think is a very realistic and achievable goal. We are asking that each player sell at least three (3) of these discount cards. Of course the more we sell, the more money we can put toward the closing ceremony. And at this time of year, what a easy gift for the kids teacher, the mail man, your neighbor, and so on. If you have not received the paperwork yet, please see your coach.

Uniforms
Games are just a week away and many of you have inquired about uniforms. I have been told that all uniforms will be in on Wednesday. They will be handed out Thursday and Friday evening.

If you came today, I hope you and the kids had a good time. I look forward to the start of the season next Saturday.

President's Message

It's finally here...the games are just a few weeks away. To start off our sesaon, we invite all of you to attend the Soccer Kickoff Party on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 12 to 4 pm at the Tamarac Sports Complex.

Food and drinks will be provided for each registered player. For just $3.00 per meal, parents and non-registered siblings can buy lunch as well. The kids will have a blast at the bounce houses and rock wall.

The schedule is now online and coaches will be given copies shortly. The season will officially begin on Saturday, December 12, 2009.

As many of you may have seen we have requested that multiple fields be lined. U-6 has three fields, U-8 has two fields and U-11 will have two fields also. We hope to get most of our games done by early afternoon on each Saturday, leaving the remainder of the day for family time.

Speaking of games, we would like to ask all of our spectators to keep an eye out for a second line that will be marked about 10 feet away from the sideline of game fields. This line will be in place prior to the first game and is where we ask the parents to set up their chairs. We want to avoid players from being injured as they run out of bounds and possibly into chairs, adults, coolers or anything else. At the same time, this will help make ensure the safety of spectators of all ages. Games cannot be played or continued while at any time spectators are between the sideline and the spectator line. This is for the safety of all involved.

Good luck to each team, and more importantly, we hope everyone will HAVE FUN.

Hello to all. I wanted to send a quick update to everyone about the season.  The registration and evaluations have concluded.  The drafts are done or will be done before this week ends.  Official PRACTICE'S will start the week of November 9th.

Parents
You should hear from your coach this week regarding practice days and times.  The league has ordered soccer balls for each player and they are in transit as I type this.  They are scheduled to arrive next week.  Your coaches already know your team name and the uniforms are being ordered this week.

Coaches
Many of the coaches have already done this, but all coaches, would you please send a SHORT email to the Board acknowledging that you have received your team roster.  All we need is your division (U-6, etc), your team name, your name and an acknowledgement (yes or no) that you received the roster.

That's it for now.  I look forward to seeing you on the field.

Coaches should call their players the week after the draft.  We anticipate practice starting the week of November 9th.

PARENTS:
We are very happy to announce that we have over 425 children registered this year. This however presents a problem for ALL of us. In order to have teams with the appropriate number of children on each team, we are looking at 14 teams in U-6, and 12 teams in U-8.

As is common, the numbers drop off from there. Just as happened last year, in order to have enough players for the U-14 division, we had to eliminate the U-10 and U-12 divisions. We had to make a U-11 division. This allowed us to have four U-14 teams and eight U-11 teams.

However, as it stands now, we only have 11 coaches in the U-6 division, (we need 14).  We are also looking for at least one and possible two coaches for the U-8 divisionWe need one coach for the U-11 division.

Please, please, please, help your kids have an enjoyable season. Without enough coaches, if the children get merged into the existing coaches teams, many teams will have so many players that they may only be able to play half of a game.

All we are asking for is two 1-hour practices a week and one game a week and we will train you. Please e-mail the board at tys@tamaracsoccer.com or call Joe Torok, league president, at 954-593-1076 if you can help out the kids by giving a small amount of your time.

You would be surprised at how amazing you feel when, at the end of the season, you realize what progress your players have made from the start to the end of the season.

President's Message

Attention all U-6 and U-8 coaches:

We have had many more players sign up than we hoped for which is very exciting. This year we are looking at 14 U-6 teams and 12 U-8 teams.

If you have signed up to coach either a U-6 or a U-8 team this year, there will be a coaches clinic for you on Sunday, October 18th from 8:00 am until noon. This will not be a "sit in a classroom and listen to someone talk" type of clinic. Please dress for and be prepared to participate. You should wear cleats if you have them. Also, please bring a cooler with you with Gatorade and/or water.

The clinic will be held at the Tamarac Sports Complex fields on 77th Street where we play our games.

We have set up a second date for the U-6 and U-8 clinic. That date is Wednesday, October 21 starting at 6:30 p.m. The space and availability for the second class is limited due to field space so please if it is at all possible, attend the Sunday clinic.

Dates for other division clinics will be posted shortly.

Finally, as an FYI, the cost for the coaches clinic is FREE. That's right, the Board is picking up the cost for each coach from our league who wishes to attend.

Each of you is strongly encouraged to attend. Some of you have coached before and some have not but I am sure that every one of you will come away from the training with something you can use throughout the season.

Thank you all for making the commitment to volunteer and coach.  Please e-mail us any questions you might have.

September 28, 2009
President's Message

Hello to all,

I want to thank all of you who have come out to register your children for the upcoming 2009-2010 Youth Soccer season.  To be honest with you, our turnout this year is a little better than we on the Board had expected.

When the new Board was elected last March, while onstage I promised all of you three things.  First, I said that you would get better communication from the Board.  Almost every email we have been sent has been answered within two days, and usually in less than one.  While we are still working to resolve some issues left over from last season, we are working quickly to resolve issues that come up with the current season.

Secondly, I promised you that you would not pay $140.00 again this year.  The Board was able to cut over 33% off of that price and brought the fee to just $95.00.

The third thing I promised was that we would have a draft to ensure as close to equal teams as possible.  In order to accomplish this, we need to hold player evaluations for ALL players.  The dates and time for the evaluations are as follows.  You need to attend only one day and you should not be there for more than an hour, if even that long:

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 04, 2009 9:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2009 9:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M.

If you forgot to bring some paperwork to registration, please bring it with you to the evaluation so we can place it in your file.

COACHES:  Please be prepared to attend the evaluations so that you can take notes on the players and be prepared for the draft.  If you are not able to attend as a coach, please try to get an assistant to attend.  YOUR ATTENDANCE WILL ASSIST YOU WHEN YOU DO THE DRAFT.

ALSO, AS WITH ANY LEAGUE, WE CAN ALWAYS USE MORE COACHES.  We will be conducting some coaches clinics this year to assist you if you would like to coach, but have never done so before.

We look forward to seeing you at the evaluations.

President's Message

Hello to all of you from the Tamarac Youth Soccer League.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that we are about half way through our registration dates and so far things are going very well. Everyone, especially the Board, is excited about the prospects this year holds for our young soccer enthusiasts.

Player Evaluations
We are in the process of getting approval of dates for our player evaluations which will be held after registration is over. We will let you all know the dates and times as soon as they are finalized.

Coaching
If you have any desire to coach a team, let us know at registration. Unfortunately, as usually happens, youth sports leagues have a hard time finding people to coach. To help eliminate any stress you may have about coaching - especially if you never have coached before - the league will provide you with training to give you tips on coaching techniques, drills to use at practice and some resources for you filled with additional information.

From a personal standpoint, I never planned on being a head coach, but due to a shortage in the league, I did it and have NO regrets. The bond between you and your child will grow stronger and the feeling you get when you realize that you may have just changed the course of a young person's life is something you will remember for a long time.

Don't be afraid to make that step and make this new year....with a new attitude......one we can all be proud of.

I look forward to seeing you all on the field.

President's Message

Dear parents and coaches,

Hello to all. I hope your summer has not been too hot and it has been filled with fun for you and your children.

It is hard to believe but the 2009-2010 soccer season is right around the corner. As it stands now we will be starting registration in mid-August through the middle of September. We need to receive confirmation from the City that we will have the room at the Community Center for the registration.

Near the end of September we will hold player evaluations for all of the players at the soccer fields. You will be updated with the dates for this as well.

As far as the costs: We promised to reduce the price from last year, and we are in the process of finalizing our budget. Although we have not set the exact price yet, we currently are looking in the area of $95.00 per child as compared to the price you paid last year ($140.00 per player). Siblings will get a $10.00 discount. This will be a savings of over 30% as compared to last year.

Coaches and those who may want to coach: Please let us know at registration of your desire. We are working on obtaining training for you this year, to be extended in upcoming years.

Referees: Also, as a cost savings, we are looking for those of you who may want to be referees. Our hope is that this year we can provide volunteer referees for the younger divisions since the amount of money that was paid to officiate the U-6 games was incredible. Training will be provided to you as well, and you will have the full support of the Board.

Code of Conduct: Lastly, please know that in order to avoid some of the issues that developed last year, we will be asking everyone to read, review and sign a Code of Conduct. I encourage you to take the time to read and understand them because they WILL BE ENFORCED, EQUALLY, this year.

Our goal is to return this league into what it was intended to be: a FUN, recreational league where children are taught to play all positions and given the chance to play them. Teams will be coached in a a positive manner. You won't see a win-at-all-cost attitude in this league.

We are excited about this year and look forward to seeing all of you on the fields.

President's Message

Dear parents and coaches,

I wanted to take a second to update you all as to what has been happening with the new soccer board. We held our first board meeting and have begun the process of filling vacant positions. Beth Lucas will be the league's registrar for the upcoming year and Dawn Torok will be the concession manager. Thank you to both of them. Both of these people have taken on roles that CANNOT be done alone. I am sure many of you will be asked to donate an hour of time here or there. Please if you can help out. Think of it this way. The more people who help out means a smaller amount of time you have to spend helping out.

The Board is working on some issues with players trophies and coaches plagues from last year.

As far as trophies, I went to Edco, the company that made the trophies, and spoke with Melissa Combs who is handling the Tamarac Soccer league. She said that if a parent has found that a name has been misspelled, the parent can contact her at (954) 587-0137. If the spelling error was Edco's mistake, the problem will be corrected for free. If it was not Edco's mistake it will cost about $4.00 if you drop the trophy off and pick it up and a little more if you want them to mail it back to you.

As for the coaches plagues, I know there are few coaches and sponsors that have not been given their plague. There were some not picked up at closing ceremony that I saw on the table. I will get those from the previous board when I take possession of the corporate papers, etc. and we will make sure those plagues are distributed. I also know there were some issues with some plagues having the wrong photos. Our secretary, will be reaching out to TSS to see how we can get these problems corrected as well.

The board is also looking at some options for Tamarac to join a parent league much like baseball has Little League. This will allow us to provide all of our coaches, old or new, with some invaluable training concerning player development, injury prevention and/or treatment, practice layout, drills, etc. All of this would be designed so that the training will be age specific (U6 coaches get U-6 training. U-11 coaches get U-11 training). One of the main reasons we are looking into this is so we can provide all of you who may be interested in coaching your child's team, some education and ideas that will allow you to make practices fun and educational and so your team will be as good as it can be at game time. There will be more information coming in the future so if you have ever thought about coaching, now is the time to prepare yourself.

Speaking of parents getting involved. I want to make it very clear that this league is NOT my league or the Board's league. It is OUR league. All of us can help to make or break this league. A little bit of time can go along way to improving our league. With that in mind I would like to ask each of you to visit a website I found, www.responsiblesports.com. There is a section for coaches and a section for parents to read. This site is right in line with what we as a board envision this league will become. It covers areas regarding sportsmanship from the players, parents and coaches and it provides ways to make the soccer experience for our children about having fun, not just winning. After reading your section there is a short 10 question quiz that you are asked to take and I encourage you to do so. Once you pass this quiz you are given a certificate. You will be asked if you want to register the certificate on the website.....and please DO register it. Liberty Mutual Insurance will give a $2500.00 grant to the 10 leagues that have the most people register their certificate.

So you see, for a few minutes of your time, you might just be the one person who puts this league in a position to earn this $2500.00 grant. And even if that doesn't happen, the very least you have done is obtain some useful tips and ideas on how to make not just your child's experience, but yours as well, a better one.

Thanks for your time and we will keep you updated as things progress.

President's Message

Hello to all of the Tamarac Youth Soccer players, parents and coaches.  I wanted to update the website and provide you all with a little insight about what the Executive Board is in the process of doing.

First the election results from Closing Ceremonies:

President:  Joe Torok
Vice President:  Matthew Waggoner
Secretary:  M.J. Bosco
Treasurer:  Staci Lang

I want to thank you, the parents, for affording me the opportunity to lead the league for the next year in a positive direction. I also want to thank Matthew, M. J. and Staci for taking on this challenge with me. From discussions we have had, we all have a similar vision for the league and as such we will easily work together to accomplish our goals.

It is also important to thank each of the members of last year's Board for the time and sacrifice they made throughout the year. Although we recognize that with the position comes sacrifice, it is often tough to know your child is playing and you cannot cheer them on as you are tied up with other Board responsibilities.

One of the things I said at Closing Ceremonies was that better communication was needed. To that end I am writing this update and will continue to update you so, please, throughout the summer check the website periodically so that you will be able to keep up to date with what your Board is working on.

Coaches: I mentioned using a draft next year for the player disbursement and fully intend to do so. I want each of you to know that you will be involved in this process as it is my belief that you should have a say in who your team is made up of.

The Board's first responsibility is to administratively change the corporation and bank account documents to put those items under the direction of the new Board.

Next we will start to address other issues such as game rules, the concession stand, parent, player and coaches code of conduct, etc.

It will be a long journey and one that will occasionally require some assistance from each of you but we are going in a good direction and I for one am excited about our next season.

Once again, thank you all for this opportunity and I hope to see all of you playing, coaching and or spectating in Tamarac next year

Joe Torok
