Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When can I sign up?
A: Every Saturday from August 16th to September 27th at the
Tamarac Community Center. Registration times are:

10:00am - 12:00pm
08/23/08: 10:00am - 12:00pm
08/30/08:
10:00am - 2:00pm
09/06/08: 10:00am - 2:00pm
09/13/08: 10:00am - 2:00pm
09/20/08: 10:00am - 2:00pm
09/27/08: 10:00am - 2:00pm
Q: How much is registration?
A: Registration fees are $140 for Tamarac residents, $190
for non-residents. The non-resident fee includes the
$50 non-resident card, which is required by the City of
Tamarac.
League fees go towards the costs
for uniforms, insurance, referees, trophies, practices,
games, soccer balls, Opening Day ceremonies and
Closing Day ceremonies.
Sign-ups during the early
registration period will save $20 per player. Those
registering on September 27th will be assessed an additional
$10.
There is a $15 sibling discount
when registering more than one child at a time.
Q: What if I already have a Tamarac
non-resident card?
A. If you already have a
non-resident card then the cost of registration will be $140
(or $120 if you sign up during the early registration
period.
Q: What do I need to bring with me
when I register?
A. You'll need to bring a copy
of the player's birth certificate (please don't bring any
originals) and proof of Tamarac residency. We accept
drivers licenses and utility bills as proof of residency.
Q: What forms of payment do you
accept? Do you take checks and
credit cards?
A. At this time we can only
accept payments via cash, checks or money
orders. Please make checks and money orders out to
Tamarac Youth Soccer.
Unfortunately, we do not take
credit card payments at this time.
Q: What are the age
divisions?
Under 6 (ages 4 and 5)
Under 8 (ages 6 and 7)
Under 10 (ages 8 and 9)
Under 12 (ages 10 and 11)
Under 14 (ages 12 and 13)
Q: What's the next step after
I register?
A: You will be contacted by one of our coaches or team
managers. If you do not receive a call by
November 15th, please contact the league at 954-804-5022 or
via email at
tamaracyouthsoccer@yahoo.com.
Q: What do I need to bring to
practice and games?
A: Every player will
need to wear the practice jersey and game uniforms that
will be handed out by team coaches. You will also need
the following:

Shin guards

Water bottle
Please note the there are
different size soccer balls, depending on the player's
age:
Under 6
– Size 3
Under 8
– Size 4
Under 10
– Size 4
Under 12
– Size 4
Under 14
– Size 5
Q: When are practices?
A: Practices are typically held twice a week, usually
between Monday and Thursday. However, the practice
schedule is determined by each team coach with input from
the parents.
Q: What days are the games?
A: All games are held on Saturdays between 11am and 4pm
at the Tamarac Sports Complex, located on the corner of
Nob Hill Road and N.W. 77th Street. See your team
schedules for game times.
Q: Do I have to buy uniforms?
A: No. Uniforms are
included in the registration fee. Your team coach will
provide you with a practice jersey and a game uniform.
Q: How do I get a schedule?
A: Your team coach should be able to provide you with a
copy. However, we recommend that you visit our Web
site for game times or postponements due to bad weather.
Q: If it rains who do we call
to find out if we are playing?
A: You should call your team coach, the Tamarac Youth
Soccer hotline (954-804-5022) or visit the Web site. Always
be ready to play unless otherwise notified.
Q: If I have an issue or
problem, who do I contact?
A. Please speak with your team coaches first, as they
are the liaison between the league and the team. If
you don't get assistance you need please contact one of our
board members.
